Philip A. Cunningham has directed the Ministry Institute at Notre Dame College, Manchester, New Hampshire, and has served as Executive Director of the Center for Christian-Jewish Learning at Boston College. He is author of Sharing the Scriptures, a volume in the series "The Word Set Free: Preaching and Teaching the Lectionary Without Anti-Judaism” (Paulist Press, 2003), A Story of Shalom: The Calling of Christians and Jews by a Covenanting God (Paulist, 2001), Proclaiming Shalom: Lectionary Introductions to Foster the Catholic and Jewish Relationship (Liturgical Press, 1995), Education for Shalom: Religion Textbooks and the Enhancement of the Catholic and Jewish Relationship (Liturgical Press, 1995), Jesus and the Evangelists: The Ministry of Jesus in the Synoptic Gospels (Paulist, 1988), and numerous articles on Christian-Jewish relations. He has also edited Pondering the Passion: What's at Stake for Christians and Jews? (Rowman and Williams, 2005) and is co-editor of The Catholic Church and the Jewish People: Recent Reflections from Rome, forthcoming this fall from Fordham University Press.

Dr. Cunningham is a member of the Advisory Committee on Catholic-Jewish Relations of the Secretariat for Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, and has represented the Holy See at various international Catholic-Jewish consultations. He is a member of the Christian Scholars Group on Christian-Jewish Relations and serves as Secretary-Treasurer of the Council of Centers on Jewish-Christian Relations. Dr. Cunningham attended Fordham University (B.A., M.S.) and LaSalle University (M.A.) and received his Ph.D. from Boston College.
He is also a vice president of the International Council of Christians and Jews.
